Santorini, May, 2019.
An active volcano, smoke visible from it’s open vent, it’s activity creating warm, refreshing hot springs, like that of a warm hug, similar to love, capable of an eruption, the reasoning varied, bordered by beaches of various colours, and various intentions, white uneven, picturesque buildings hosting weddings, honeymoons, and anniversaries, views, unforgettable views, views that require a presence, from afar appear peaceful and serene, the inside view at times different, the streets filled with couples or groups celebrating love, the narrow roads and pathways in symmetry with the intimacy present, highlighting the fact that I was alone, like this island, distracted by moments of socialising, at times feeling lonely, an image presented itself, an image of me in this world alone, with no one else in it, the picture vivid in my mind, causing a feeling, a realisation.
