About

My name is Ummy and I am originally from Tanzania. I moved to Ireland when I was around 2-3 years old, where I grew up and lived for most of my life. I graduated from university with a science degree, but I didn’t really have any intention to work in the science sector, so, due to my love of travel, I decided to do an English teaching course and successfully obtained a CELT certificate. During my first year of teaching I worked in a language school in the north of Spain where I discovered how much I actually enjoyed teaching, and I slowly, but surely, feel in love with it. In my second year, I worked as a kindergarten teacher in an international school in Turkey, where I learned so much, met some of the most wonderful people, and made some of the best friends.

I am currently trying to figure out my life, reflecting on how far I have come, and trying to find what my purpose is, or maybe even just figuring out my “why” in life. I am a firm believer of living life to the fullest, I love trying new things, exploring new places, and going on lots of adventures. I’ve always been one to listen to my own intuition and I try not to do anything that doesn’t resonate with who I am. I am a person who enjoys the little things in life, and I don’t really take life too seriously.

Everyone keeps telling me that I need to be more open, as I am very much like a closed book, so I have decided to listen (for once) and use this platform to share my thoughts on what it is I have gone through/going through.

I would love to hear from you, whether you would love to talk, or you have any comments or questions, please feel free to share. ♡
